LinkedIn

FirstReply connects a LinkedIn company page. Engagement on the page's posts arrives in the inbox, and replies are posted back as comments from the page.

What you need

  • A LinkedIn company page.
  • A page admin role on your personal LinkedIn account.

Connecting

Add an inbox of type LinkedIn. You are sent to LinkedIn, you sign in and approve access to the page, and you return with the company name and page URL filled in.

The token is refreshed automatically before it expires. LinkedIn's tokens are shorter-lived than Meta's, so this inbox is slightly more likely to need a reconnect than the others.

Limits

Replies are capped at 1,250 characters, which is LinkedIn's comment limit.

Replies are plain text. Formatting is stripped.

Attachments are not supported on this channel.

What this channel is good for

Unlike email or chat, replies here are public: they appear as comments under your post where anyone can read them. That changes what belongs in them.

Answer the question briefly and publicly, and move anything account-specific to email or DM. "Happy to check that for you, could you write to support@example.com with your order number?" is the right shape for a public reply, and it is worth putting that instruction into the prompt attached to whichever classification handles LinkedIn.

Because of that, LinkedIn is a channel where draft only is a better default than automatic replies, even when your knowledge base is strong.

Contacts

Contacts carry the person's LinkedIn name and profile id. No email address is available through the API.
